Richard Harper

Richard Harper brings more than 17 years of management and consulting experience and 8 years of line-management experience in the aerospace and electronics industries. He currently works with Fortune 500 companies on the implementation of strategy, operations and information-technology initiatives. His experience spans a broad spectrum of the oil and gas industry, including refining, marketing, gas transmission, exploration and production.

Examples of his engagements include:

  • For North America's largest pipeline, was responsible for the optimization of operations, engineering and commercial processes. Scope of engagement included:
    • Implementation of best practices across field operations for major maintenance, compliance and routine operations
    • Streamlining commercial-operations processes
    • Optimization of field warehousing and critical-spare management
    • Optimization of company-wide engineering practices
  • For a Texas-based retail company, revitalized the implementation of an enterprise-wide digital-advertising asset-management and production system. Engagement focused on the rescue of a reengineering and technology-implementation project to meet budget, schedule and benefit commitments.
  • For an electric and gas-distribution utility, reengineered the customer-service process and implemented upgraded contact-center technology to reduce cost and improve service.
  • For a large interstate pipeline, lead the post-merger integration of the pipeline operations and engineering functions.
  • For a diversified automotive-product manufacturer, led the revitalization of a financial reengineering and ERP system implementation program. Engagement focused on restructuring the project to meet Y2K commitments and reduce implementation costs.
